The Friedman Real Estate Group has been hired as the exclusive leasing agent for the office portion of the new film studio in Pontiac.

The Farmington Hills real estate company will handle the marketing and sales efforts for the 100,000 square feet of office space next to Raleigh Michigan Studios, on Centerpoint Parkway. The campus comprises 620,000 square feet of space.

As part of the listing, Friedman is creating a new Film and Production Services Group, said Managing Director Gary Goodman. Senior Vice President Steve Eisenshtadt will head the group for Friedman.

“This is a unique project; there’s nothing else like it,” Goodman said. “Ideally, we’ll find users who want to take advantage of the symbiotic relationship with the stages and production space.”

Goodman said post-production companies would be a good fit, as would talent agencies or entertainment law firms.

The 100,000-square-foot space can be divided as needed, but the carpeting, lighting and overall structure are ready for an office user.

Raleigh Michigan Studios is a joint venture involving Los Angeles-based Raleigh Studios; Troy-based Nelson Ventures; John Rakolta, CEO of Detroit-based Walbridge; A. Alfred Taubman, founder of Bloomfield Hills-based Taubman Centers Inc; and Ari Emanuel, co-CEO of the Los Angeles-based talent agency William Morris Endeavor.

“This is a unique opportunity for companies to be a part of something that really can have an impact on the state of Michigan,” said Michael Moore, president of Raleigh Studios. “Friedman is a respected company and the perfect partner to help place companies that will be best suited to take advantage of the studio environment.”
