The Tampa Bay Innovation Center has launched “StartUp Studio,” a programming series geared toward scientists, researchers, engineers and technology entrepreneurs.

StartUp Studio is looking for participants for two programs: Wendy Kennedy’s “So What? Who Cares? Why You?” scheduled to begin March 20, and the Kauffman Foundation’s “Fast Trac TechVenture” scheduled to launch in May.

Innovation Center staff will lead both.

A grant from Enterprise Florida Inc. and theFlorida Department of Economic Opportunity will reimburse fees for current and former military who complete the program.

“Often times veterans come back from active duty and have identified a problem that exists and a solution, but they need that foundation,” said Danielle Weitlauf, new venture manager for the Innovation Center.

The award is part of a larger grant of $50,000 to fund a series of activities.

StartUp Studio kicked off with an information open house on March 13.
