Jolly Pumpkin Brewery to open at Wagner Place in West Dearborn

Wagner Place, a $60-million mixed-used development by Ford Land, opened last week in Dearborn with a celebration, while also announcing seven local businesses who have committed to occupying the 150,000-square-foot building’s retail floor.

Jolly Pumpkin Brewery, Paradise Briyani Pointe Indian Cuisine, The Great Commoner, Modern Greek, Eleanor’s Café Yogurtown, Orangetheory Fitness and a regional barbeque chain have all come on board to open in the first floor of Wagner Plaza, located on Michigan Avenue in West Dearborn.

The Wagner Hotel was vacant for over 10 years before Ford Land bought the site in an effort to shift the site into a destination.

“We are incredibly excited about this opportunity to be a part of Wagner Place,” said Tony Grant, spokesperson for Jolly Pumpkin Brewery told Press and Guide last week.

A new breakfast and lunch spot called The Great Commoner will occupy the bottom floor of the Wagner Hotel; City Barbeque and Jolly Pumpkin Restaurant & Brewery will be in the East building of the development, according to a report by Detroit News, saying that 40 percent of retail space is still up for grabs at $30 a square-foot.

The project, which broke ground last May and took 18 months to finish, complements the existing streetscape with varying roof lines, windows, awnings and green space.

Some 600 Ford global data insights and analytics (GDIA) employees will occupy the second and third floors of Wagner Place, previously reported by the Free Press.

Ford aims to have Wagner Place certified for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design with water and energy conservation features.
