MODERN OFFICE INTERIOR BRINGS BUILDING INTO THE NEW MILLENNIUM

Farmingtononyx-outside Hills, Michigan (September 8, 2015) Today’s businesses are competing for top talent more than ever before. The modern workforce is driving trends in office space design. A new generation of workers that has grown up on technology, sustainability, collaboration, and flexibility means that companies, and their office space, must adapt.

With these trends in mind, Friedman’s Construction and Design team has been busy completing improvements to the four-story office building known as Onyx Office Plaza, located at 29777 Telegraph Road in the heart of Southfield, Metro Detroit’s second largest suburban office submarket. The changes are bold, striking, and dramatic, bringing the building to a new level in the Southfield market.

The lobby was completely re-imagined to accommodate an open design concept, encompassing modern finishes with large format ceramic floor tile, high-end metallic wall covering, marble wall tile and linear LED light fixtures. A new digital directory, bench seating and exotic plantings were also added. “The lobby of any office building is the first impression that a client, employee, or prospective new hire sees, so it’s vital”, says Kristin Burgess, Director of Space Planning for Friedman’s Construction and Design group.

In addition, today’s office users expect modern amenities such as well-appointed cafes, shared conference facilities, and of course, Wi-Fi access throughout the common space.

Renovations to the Onyx cafeteria included luxury vinyl plank flooring and an exposed ceiling. The new dining space contains multiple seating areas and configurations, including traditional booths, bar height tables and new exterior patio seating. Free Wi-Fi for tenants and guests is provided throughout.

“Our Construction and Design team did an outstanding job”, said David Friedman, President and CEO of Friedman Integrated Real Estate Solutions. “Tenants have a lot of choices in the Southfield market, and we believe the changes that we made at Onyx make it far and away the best building and the best value in the city.”
