Spanish restaurant wins $50,000 Comerica Hatch award

Comerica Bank and a Detroit business promotion group awarded the Spanish restaurant and wine bar La Feria the 2012 Comerica Hatch Detroit award on Thursday.

The award, determined by online voting, comes with a $50,000 prize.

The group said the restaurant will serve wine and Spanish tapas and will open in 2013 in Detroit’s Midtownarea. It will seat 35, with plans for a patio that will add seating for 16.

Besides the cash prize from Comerica, La Feria also will get some in-kind services. They include environmental assessment services from PM Environmental; interior design guidance from Andrea Leigh Davis; legal services from Honigman, Miller, Schwartz and Cohn LLP; design and branding services fromTeam Detroit; and information technology services from Strategic Staffing Solutions.
